Associate Position

Saltwater Law is a boutique law firm in downtown Vancouver focused on family law, child protection law and adoptions. We have built a fun and progressive work  environment and we strongly value diverse lived experiences.

WHO YOU ARE:

We are seeking a highly-motivated individual seeking to grow their practice and to join our team. You  are someone who:  

  • is at least a one year call and licensed with the Law Society of B.C. 

  • has litigation experience, preferably in family law. We are happy to discuss arrangements where you could maintain a practice in other areas of law.

  • has a commitment to reconciliation, and to equitable access to justice. 

  • has an understanding of family violence and practicing law with a trauma-informed lens.

  • speaks a language other than English (an asset but not essential). 

You are also someone who genuinely likes people and hearing their stories, cares about the quality of  their work, and enjoys advocacy and the practice of law. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

You will predominantly have carriage of your own family law files, but there will be opportunities to assist on other family law and child protection files.

COMPENSATION & START DATE:

Fee split of 50/50, with the possibility of base pay + fee split for the right candidate.

 

Start Date: Immediately, but we are flexible.
